How Are Bingo Cards Numbered?
When it comes to bingo card numbering, there are a number of factors to take into account, because of the fact that there are different kinds of online bingo games available to play and each of these is different in terms of the rules.
The most popular bingo variation, especially in the UK is the 90 ball bingo game and it is often this that new online bingo players relate to the most because this is the one that was usually played in the traditional bingo halls.
Let’s take a more detailed look at the different types of games and how the cards are numbered, however, this article explains more in detail about the intricacies of such cards as well.
90 Ball Bingo Cards
As already briefly mentioned, this is the most popular and as such most recognised online bingo game. These cards themselves have no blank spaces and are arranged in three rows of nine numbers, which comes to 27 in total. Players win prizes usually for matching one line, two lines and then three lines (known as a full house), while the numbers are drawn using a random number generator (RNG), which is the same for all online bingo games.
80 Ball Bingo Cards
This game is arguably less popular, while the grids are also different as well as the format. In the 80 ball bingo game, players have a 4×4 grid of 16 numbers and because of this, there are no blank spaces. You can win prizes playing 80 ball bingo by getting lines which are horizontal, vertical or diagonal, while some games also require you to get all four corners, a cross pattern or even the four middle squares.
75 Ball Bingo Cards
A form of bingo which has had much success in America, these cards are numbered on a 5×5 grid containing 25 numbers. To win at 75 ball bingo, you are required to mark off numbers on the grid in a predefined order or pattern across five columns. Each column on a 75 ball bingo card is marked with a letter, which spells out ‘B-I-N-G-O’.
30 Ball Bingo Cards
Also known as ‘Speed Bingo’, this game progresses very quickly and is ideal for players who want the game to be over quickly. As a result, the bingo cards are 3×3 grids, containing nine numbers which range from one to 30. To win at 30 ball bingo, some games will offer prizes for getting one and two lines, though most commonly, there is just one prize available and that is for matching all of the numbers (a full house).
